I had a wonderful time with Mio at Asiandays after school on Friday, eating & drinking a lot! We could eat & drink as much as we liked for 3,000 yen in 90 minutes at the restaurant. We were very excited, and ordered many kinds of Yamucha foods & drinks. I wanted to drink too much, but actually, I ordered too much Yamucha foods, so we became full before we started to drink in real earnest! Next time, I will ordered less to drink a lot. Actually, I really liked the restaurant. It was a very cosy place, and I could relax, and had a lot of fun with Mio, eating & chatting & eating(& eating!). I enjoyed every different kind of tiny Yamucha foods one after another & some pretty, colourful drinks like umeshu, wine, some other kinds of chuhai. We also had a nabe of some meets & vagetables in the middle of our table, on IH. When I went for a sweets buffet last year, I also had 90 minutes limited, but 90 minutes was really enough to finish a lot of kinds of sweets, so this time I ate very slowly, & had drinks taking long time, but in fact, this time, 90 minutes was not really enough. When I looked at my keitai watch, I was surprised that time was nearly over, so I ordered a lot of different tiny Yamucha as a last order...
I realized that I could not eat any more when waiters brought the last ordered Yamucha to our table. We did not know what to do, as you can imagine that because we knew the people who cannot eat even a tiny food just to live today. We looked at the delicious-looking Yamucha, and decided to chat for a while. While we chatted, we discussed what would be the best way to do not to waste the foods which we did not even touch at all.
1. We can give the Yamucha foods to the people who were at the table next to us or to the people at other tables... Isn't it a bit impolite to hand the food which we do not need any more to the people who we do not know at all?
2. We can give the Yamucha foods to the waiters & the staffs of the restaurant as presents... What if they refuse as their restaunt's policy?
3. Maybe, we give up this time, & make sure that we will not do this again... so we leave all these brandnew foods after we think about the poor people?
Well, can you guess which way we took? When a waiter asked us if she could take the dishes, we explained that we ordered the Yamucha foods some minutes ago, but we could not eat any more. When we said till here, the waiter said "It is no problem, ma'am". but then we continued saying that we wanted to present the food to her & her coworkers at the restaurant, and said " please do not throw them away". The waiter looked a little bit surprised, but she smiled, and said "wow, is it really, ma'am? oh, thank you so much, ma'am". We were very glad that the waiter was not confused, and looked pleased. yeah, so the answer is No.2!
If the restaurant has a strict rule to throw all of food which customer leave away, which can be possible, the food might be wasted, but still, we thought there was a difference between trying to find a way not to waste the food and giving up without trying any way. Have you ever experienced a situation like this? What would be your choice if you were with us at the restaurant? I know that it was my fault that I ordered too much food, so next time when I go for dinner, I will discuss with my stomach to know how much I can eat, so that I will not ordered too much food, and I will not waste food.
