I went to Terry Fox Run! I worried because the day before, it was raining a lot all day, but it was a beautiful sunny day with clear blue sky. I went with my American friend, and I remembered that I went with Motoko last year. Oh last year, I was late, so Motoko had to wait so long, and this year, I overslept, so my friend had to wait for me too! Dear..I am so sorry! Because of my overslept, we arrived at Canadian Academy a bit late, but it was okay. I donated money, and they gave Terry Fox's magnets, tatoo stickers, and bookmarkers. Everyone was just starting, so we started too!
We did not run(except the last 5 meters), but enjoyed walking. It was really a sunny warm day with nice breeze. I enjoyed talking about so many things with my friend, and taking photos of nature there. I remembered that there are lovely scenery with leaves cahnging its colours, shining ocean, waving coconut trees, etc.. So good! I especially love seeing lots of little kids there. Their parents have very unique prams for their kids, and all those kids looked so happy with an special festa-like day. Some people wore funny clothes as if it was a Halloween! I talked to one of those funny wearing people. He was a daddy of very cute twin boys, and asked me how I knew about Terry Fox, so I told about my Global Issues class to him. Other kids were giving cups of water at some points, and I heard many people say 'Arigato'. Actually many of the people there today were western people(though they are living in Japan), so I felt that I am gaijin today! We ran last 5 meters to finish, and got the certifications. After that, kids gave people bottles of water and energy bars(not very yummy!) for free, and we also bought hotdogs! yum.
I could have such a happy day with my friend, and I thought dying at my age is just too early.. It was the 25th Terry Fox Run this year, so we received little ribbons with Terry Fox's picture printed on with the certifications too. I found out that in Gifu, they had Terry Fox Run in June. Then I wondered if Osaka will have one or not, but then I thought that in Osaka, we just cannot get those enough clean, quiet, beautiful space.. Now I wonder who I will invite for next year's Terry Fox Run! cheers!

I was very happy when I read your blog! That's so great that you went to the Terry Fox Run. I'm so proud of you. I wish I could have been there. I think the Terry Fox Runs were some of my best memories of Japan :-)
